Welcoming the New Academic Year
Every new academic year brings a fresh beginning for children. It also brings new hopes, dreams, and opportunities to learn. However, for some families, arranging basic school supplies can be a difficult task.
Pratheeksha believes that children should have access to the basic materials they need for education. Therefore, every year, the organisation comes together with supporters and volunteers to help underprivileged students begin the academic year with confidence.
As part of the school opening day celebrations at Vellanikkal Government LP School, Pratheeksha distributed books and stationery materials to the students.
Supporting Students Through Education
School bags, notebooks, pencils, pens, and other stationery items are essential for everyday learning. Yet, these simple materials can become a financial burden for families with limited resources.
The student kit distribution aimed to reduce this burden. Each student received books and basic stationery materials that could support their classroom activities throughout the academic year.
More importantly, the initiative carried a message of encouragement. Providing educational materials shows children that their education matters and that their community supports their dreams.
A Collective Community Effort
Pratheeksha could not have carried out this initiative alone. The programme received valuable contributions and support from several organisations and individuals.
Special mention goes to Srishti Innovative, The J Squad, and Digital Point Attingal for their contributions towards the initiative. Their support helped Pratheeksha reach more students and provide them with the materials required for their studies.
Such collaborations show the importance of community participation. When people and organisations come together, even a small contribution can create a meaningful impact.
School Opening Day Programme
A small meeting was also organised as part of the student kit distribution. The programme was presided over by the School Headmistress.
The event included felicitation speeches and interactions with the school community. Mr. Vishnu, representing Pratheeksha, also participated in the programme and shared his support for the initiative.
The presence of teachers, supporters, volunteers, and students made the occasion special. It also created an opportunity to celebrate the beginning of another academic year.
Volunteers Supporting the Distribution
Pratheeksha volunteers played an important role in making the distribution smooth and organised. Five volunteers, Adithya, Karthika, Arathy, Akhil, and Elizabeth, helped distribute the books and stationery materials to the students.
Their time and effort contributed greatly to the success of the programme. Volunteering is an important part of community initiatives because it turns good intentions into meaningful action.

The student kit distribution at Vellanikkal Government LP School was more than a school supply distribution. It was a collective effort to give children a positive start to the new academic year.
