School Visit

School Visit

“We need to teach the next generation of children from day one that they are responsible for their lives.”

Helping Children Become Responsible

Children need support and guidance as they grow. However, helping them does not always mean doing everything for them. It is also important to teach children how to take responsibility for their own actions and choices.

The lessons children learn during their school years can shape their future. When children understand the value of responsibility, they can become more confident and independent as they grow.

Supporting Children Through Pratheeksha

Pratheeksha, a Srishti initiative, focuses on supporting children who need financial assistance for education and medical treatment. Many children are currently supported through Pratheeksha sponsorship programmes.

These children receive support from sponsors and well-wishers from different parts of the world. Their contributions help children continue their education and meet important needs.

However, financial assistance alone is not enough. Children also need regular encouragement, guidance, and attention.

Staying Connected with Schools and Families

Volunteers have an important role in understanding the progress of sponsored children. Regular communication with parents and schools helps volunteers know how the children are doing.

School visits provide an opportunity to understand their academic progress and attendance. They also help identify areas where a child may need additional support.

Visit to V.K. Kani Government School and Navajyothi Special School

As part of this effort, Pratheeksha volunteers Mr. Vishnu Prasad and Ms. Parvathy visited V.K. Kani Government School, Panacode, and Navajyothi Special School, Amboori.

During the visit, they had an interesting and interactive session with the sponsored children. The volunteers spent time talking with the students and learning more about their school experience.

Understanding Student Progress

The volunteers enquired about the students’ academic performance, attendance, and report cards. They also made notes about their progress.

Such regular follow-ups help volunteers understand whether the children are making good progress. They also provide an opportunity to identify areas where further guidance may be useful.

More importantly, these interactions encourage students to take their studies seriously. When children know that people care about their progress, they may feel more motivated to do their best.

Encouraging Responsibility

Education is not only about marks and examinations. Children also need to learn responsibility, discipline, and the importance of making an effort.

School visits can help children understand that their own actions play an important role in their future. They can learn to take responsibility for their studies, attendance, behaviour, and other activities.

Pratheeksha will continue these efforts to support children through financial assistance, regular follow-ups, and personal guidance. The goal is to help every child grow with confidence and understand the importance of taking responsibility for their own future.

“Children need to learn to take responsibility for their actions, so that they do not become adults believing that nothing is ever their fault.”
