Caring for Children and Their Future
We often hear about the importance of children and their future. But how often do we take time to support children who need help?
Children need more than financial support. They also need care, encouragement, and someone who is willing to listen. Understanding their feelings and needs can help them grow with confidence.
At Srishti, sensitivity towards children and their needs is encouraged. Listening carefully, speaking kindly, and understanding their situations are simple ways to show care and support.
Pratheeksha’s Vision
Pratheeksha, a Srishti initiative, focuses on supporting children through quality education and healthcare. It also aims to provide an environment where children can develop their skills and interests.
Education can open new opportunities for children. Healthcare can help them stay healthy and continue their studies. By bringing these areas together, Pratheeksha aims to help children dream about a better future and work towards their goals.
A Special Get-Together
As part of the 9th Foundation Day celebrations, a special get-together was organised for children supported through Pratheeksha. The programme was held at the Srishti office.
Around 26 children attended the programme along with their teachers. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to meet each other and spend time together.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was the opportunity given to the children to meet and speak with their foreign sponsors through Skype. Watching the children interact with their sponsors was a truly special experience.
A Morning Filled with Activities
The children were welcomed with breakfast. This was followed by a small meeting where members of the Srishti team shared their thoughts about Pratheeksha and its activities.
Mr. Krishnadas Pisharam, CEO; Mrs. Preetha Mohan, Executive Director; Mr. Nizam; and Mr. Vishnu Prasad shared their insights with the children.
The interaction helped the children understand more about the support they receive and the work carried out through Pratheeksha.
Celebrating the Talents of Children
The programme also gave the children an opportunity to showcase their talents. We were happy to discover that many of the children had wonderful skills in music and other activities.
A special mention goes to Ms. Nithuna, who entertained everyone with her beautiful singing. Other talented children also performed songs. Some of these performances were recorded to be played later on the company’s FM programme, “Radio Friday.”
The children were also surprised with gifts presented by CEO Mr. Krishnadas Pisharam, Executive Director Mrs. Preetha Mohan, and Project Manager Mr. Lallu Chandran.
As it was Teacher’s Day, the children also had an opportunity to wish their teachers. Some Srishti employees took the initiative to buy sweets for the children, adding more happiness to the celebration.
Exploring the Srishti Office
The children were given the freedom to explore the Srishti office. Employees voluntarily spent time with them and explained how an IT company works as a team.
They were introduced to different departments and got an idea of how people with different roles work together to complete projects.
This exposure was planned to help the children understand the world of work. It also aimed to create awareness about career opportunities and encourage them to focus on their studies.
Encouraging Dreams and Talents
Every child has different interests and abilities. Some may be interested in academics, while others may have talents in music, arts, science, sports, or other areas.
Pratheeksha aims to identify these talents and encourage children to develop them. Through different programmes, the initiative hopes to provide children with opportunities to explore their interests and build confidence.
The long-term aim is also to develop leadership qualities among children. With the right guidance and opportunities, they can learn to take responsibility, make good decisions, and become responsible members of society.
A Hope for the Future
The day ended with warm memories and a hopeful thought for the future. The children returned home with new experiences, new encouragement, and the knowledge that people care about their dreams.
Pratheeksha will continue its efforts to support children in their education, healthcare, personal development, and future aspirations.
