“Giving is not just about making a donation; it is about making a difference.”
The beginning of a new academic year brings excitement and hope to children. It is a time to start fresh, meet friends, and look forward to new learning experiences. However, some families face challenges when arranging the basic materials their children need for school.
Education can create opportunities for children to build a better future. Therefore, supporting students with books and stationery can help reduce some of the difficulties faced by families with limited resources.
Pratheeksha believes that every child deserves the basic resources needed to learn and participate in school activities. With this aim, the organisation regularly supports deserving students through educational initiatives.
School Opening at SKV Kadinamkulam
As part of the school opening day celebrations at SKV School, Kadinamkulam, Pratheeksha distributed books and stationery materials to the students.
The initiative aimed to give students a positive start to the new academic year. The educational materials included essential items that students could use throughout their studies.
For some families, purchasing school supplies every year can be difficult. Therefore, this support can reduce a small part of that financial burden. More importantly, it can encourage children to approach their studies with confidence and enthusiasm.
Support from the Community
Pratheeksha could not carry out this initiative alone. Several organisations and individuals came forward to support the programme.
Special appreciation goes to Srishti Innovative, Kerala Cultural Society of Metropolitan Washington (KCSMW), Yogakshemasabha Attingal Upasabha, Techversant, and Digital Point Attingal for their valuable contributions.
Their support helped make the distribution possible. Such collaboration also shows how community participation can strengthen educational initiatives.
School Opening Day Programme
A small meeting was organised as part of the programme. The function was presided over by the school’s PTA President, Mr. Shibu. Mrs. Jnjanaselvam inaugurated the programme.
The school’s Principal, Mr. Rafi, welcomed the gathering with his speech. The programme also included felicitation speeches from the guests and representatives.
Mr. Vishnu, representing Pratheeksha, participated in the event and shared his support for the initiative. His interaction with the school community added value to the programme.
Volunteers Make a Difference
Volunteers also played an important role in the distribution. Karthika and Shilpa, two Pratheeksha volunteers, helped distribute the books and stationery materials to the students.
Their time and effort helped the programme run smoothly. Volunteering also shows how individuals can contribute to their communities through simple acts of service.
Thank You to Everyone Involved
Pratheeksha sincerely thanks Revathy, Karthika, Shilpa, Sabreena, and everyone who supported and worked for this initiative.
The school opening programme at SKV School Kadinamkulam was more than a distribution of books and stationery. It was a collective effort to encourage children and support their education.
Every notebook, pencil, and other learning material represented a small contribution towards a child’s educational journey. With continued support from organisations, volunteers, schools, and well-wishers, Pratheeksha hopes to reach more deserving students in the future.
