Student Kit Distribution

Supporting Students After the Flood

Recovering from a flood is not easy. Families who return home after spending days in relief camps often face difficult conditions. Many have to rebuild their lives from the beginning. Homes, belongings, schools, and other essential resources may have suffered serious damage.

For children, returning to school can be an important part of recovery. Education can bring a sense of normal life after a difficult experience. However, many families may struggle to provide basic school supplies after losing their belongings in the flood.

Pratheeksha Joins the Relief Effort

Recognising these challenges, Pratheeksha Charitable Trust, along with volunteers and other charitable groups, came forward to support flood-affected communities. As part of the relief effort, Pratheeksha decided to provide essential educational materials to children who had been affected by the disaster.

Through this initiative, student kits were distributed to children of Chittar LP School. The activity focused on helping students return to their studies with the basic materials they needed.

The initiative was more than a distribution programme. It was an effort to encourage children to continue their education even after facing a difficult period.

Student’s Kit Distribution at Chittar LP School

Chittar was among the areas that suffered significant damage during the floods. Several homes, schools, and buildings faced the impact of the disaster. Many families also lost valuable belongings during the floods.

In such circumstances, even basic educational materials can become difficult for families to arrange. Therefore, Pratheeksha distributed books and other learning materials to the students of Chittar LP School.

The programme took place at 11 AM. Mr. Abdul Rahman, PTA President, chaired the meeting. Mr. Harikumar Namboothiri inaugurated the function. Mr. Vishnu Prasad M. V., Secretary of Pratheeksha, also participated in the programme and inaugurated the distribution of student kits.

Helping Children Return to Education

The distribution of student kits aimed to support children as they returned to their educational activities. School supplies can help students take part in classroom learning without worrying about replacing materials lost during the flood.

More importantly, the initiative offered a message of encouragement. Children affected by a disaster need support from their families and communities. A helping hand can give them confidence to move forward.

Education can also provide stability during uncertain times. By helping children return to their studies, community initiatives can support their journey towards a more secure future.

Thanks to the Volunteers

Pratheeksha expresses its sincere gratitude to the youth volunteers of Pathanamthitta Yogakshemasabha Yuvajanasabha for their valuable support. Their involvement helped make the initiative possible.

The student kit distribution at Chittar LP School was a small but meaningful step towards supporting flood-affected children. When organisations, volunteers, and communities work together, they can provide practical help to families during difficult times.

Through such initiatives, Pratheeksha continues to support children and promote access to education, especially during periods of crisis and recovery.
